VetterTec Inc. is a leading provider of custom engineered dewatering and drying systems, which includes pilot plant testing, engineering, design, fabrication and installation of complete systems.  Our equipment can be found in many industries including, Agri-foods, food, dairy, brewery, chemical, wood and minerals.  Partial list of equipment we provide includes: Dewatering Screw Press, Steam tube bundle, Flash/Ring, Spray, and Fluid Bed dryers. 

This is an exciting opportunity for the right candidate.  We need a hands-on designer who is comfortable working in an office, pilot plant and site.

The Mechanical Designer will be part of a team responsible for the mechanical design of industrial dryers and ancillary equipment (process air, conveying, piping, structures, tanks, etc.).  This will include the preparation of models, general arrangement drawings and detail drawings.

Responsibilities:

  • Produce 3D models of detail components and large assemblies
  • Produce detail drawings and assembly drawings
  • Design with constraints of budget, schedule, operator safety, ease of maintenance, etc.
  • Respect drawing standards and standard regulatory criteria (FDA, CSA, ANSI, etc.) for all designs
  • Use proper naming conventions and archiving protocols when creating drawings
  • Perform inspection of new parts

Position Requirements:

  • An engineering degree or design/technical certificate or relevant equivalent experience.
  • 0 -  3 years experience
  • Fluent in English
  • Mastery of Autodesk Inventor
  • Organized, self-disciplined and professional in demeanor
  • Willing to travel, including some international travel
